Keta (V/R), Sept. 12, GNA – The Chinese Enterprises Chamber in Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education in the Keta Municipality, pledging investment in the future of children as a shared responsibility that must transcend politics and institutional interests.
Mr Wang Jinxiao, President of the Chamber, made the pledge in a solidarity message during an event organised by the Keta Education Fund to donate educational materials, including exercise books, stationery and writing boards, to the Keta Municipal Education Directorate.
Mr Wang said it was a great honour for the Chamber to be part of the intervention, noting that the gesture went beyond the donation of items to represent a collective investment in the education, dignity and future of every child in Keta.
He recalled an earlier partnership among the Chamber, the Keta Education Fund and Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited, which led to the supply of more than 1,000 mono desks to schools across the municipality. He described the initiative as proof that coordinated action among government, traditional authorities, communities and the private sector could deliver practical and measurable development outcomes.
Mr Wang said the educational challenges confronting Keta remained pressing and required sustained attention.
“No child should be made to sit on the floor to learn, lack basic learning materials, or be denied quality education because essential resources were unavailable.”
He stressed that education must rise above political and institutional differences, adding that while governments may change, the collective responsibility to prepare the next generation must remain constant.
Mr Wang commended the Keta Education Fund for complementing the efforts of the Government, the Municipal Assembly, the Ghana Education Service and other stakeholders in addressing educational needs in the area.
“Let me announce that the Chamber is initiating discussions towards a broader partnership with the Keta Education Fund and other relevant stakeholders, with a view to explore opportunities in educational exchanges, technical and vocational training, and skills development.”
He said the envisaged partnership would also cover institutional collaboration, entrepreneurship, technology, investment facilitation, job creation and improved health service delivery in the municipality.
Mr Wang noted that the Chamber’s objective was not limited to making donations, but to build capacity, strengthen institutions, create opportunities and promote sustainable local development for the benefit of the people of Keta.
He expressed confidence in the enormous human and economic potential of Keta, and stated that with unity of purpose, effective leadership, strategic partnerships and sustained investment in people, the potential could be fully realised.
Mr Wang called for a collective effort beyond politics and institutional interests towards the development and prosperity of the people of Keta municipality and wished the Keta Education Fund and Ghana-China friendship and cooperation long life.
Madam Enyonam Adzo Apetorgbor, the Founder of Keta Education Fund, also welcomed the call for the Ghana-China collaboration and urged other stakeholders, philanthropists, individuals, among others to embrace the move for the progress of the area.
Mr Wisdom Seade, the Keta Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) also pledged to support the move for the development of education in the municipality and beyond.
