Appiatse (W/R), Sept. 25, GNA – Nana Atta Kojo Brembi II, the Divisional Chief of Beppoh, has appealed to the government to include the construction of a chief’s palace in the Phase Three of the Appiatse Redevelopment Project.
He said the facility was excluded in the previous phases.
Nana Brembi II also requested the construction of a Junior High School (JHS), to complement the primary school already provided in the community.
He made the appeal at Appiatse when Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and other stakeholders, cut the sod for the commencement of Phase Three of the project.
The Chief further urged the government to expedite the payment of outstanding land compensation to affected community members.
Describing the commencement of Phase Three as a significant milestone, Nana Brembi said the redevelopment was not merely about constructing houses but about restoring security, dignity, belonging, privacy and stability to families affected by the disaster.
He praised the government, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Appiatse Reconstruction and Fund Management Committee, traditional authorities, the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly, local implementation structures and other partners for their contributions.
He commended the people of Appiatse for their patience, resilience and cooperation throughout the redevelopment process.
Nana Brembi noted that some commitments previously made to the community had been fulfilled and expressed confidence that the remaining aspects would be completed.
