Dambai (O/R) Sept 30, GNA – Sixty-four aspirants have been vetted and cleared to contest various executive positions in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Executive Elections in the Krachi East Constituency of the Oti Region.
The elections, scheduled for October 24, 2026, form part of the NDC’s nationwide internal electoral process to elect new constituency executives to manage the affairs of the party at the grassroots level.
The aspirants are contesting various positions, including Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Organiser, Communications Officer, Women’s Organiser and Youth Organiser, among others.
Mr Isaac Kaliwa, the Acting Constituency Secretary of the NDC in Krachi East, who is also seeking to retain his position, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Monday, saying the vetting exercise was conducted smoothly and successfully.
He said the exercise provided an opportunity for the party to assess the eligibility of the aspirants in accordance with the party’s electoral guidelines ahead of the elections.
Mr Kaliwa said the successful completion of the vetting exercise marked another important stage in the party’s preparations for the constituency elections.
He urged all aspirants and their supporters to adhere to the rules and regulations governing the electoral process and conduct their campaigns peacefully.
The Acting Constituency Secretary also called on party members and delegates to maintain unity and discipline throughout the process to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
The elections are expected to produce a new crop of constituency executives who will be responsible for coordinating party activities, strengthening grassroots structures and promoting effective communication and mobilisation within the constituency.
The constituency-level elections form part of the NDC’s broader internal reorganisation ahead of the party’s regional and national executive elections later in the year.
