Kiev, Aug 6 (dpa/GNA) – Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has ordered special operations against Russia’s arms industry during a meeting with his country’s military and political leadership.
The operations are intended to target “specific companies that we have already identified,” Zelensky said on Facebook on Thursday. All those present at the meeting were given clear tasks. “I expect them to be carried out in full,” he said.
Russia’s military industry must be “significantly curtailed,” Zelensky added, while lamenting that Moscow continues to receive support and key components for its war efforts from abroad.
“We can see that every Russian missile, every drone and other weapons contain critical components from other countries, without which such weapons simply could not exist,” the Ukrainian president complained.
Ukraine has recently dealt a heavy blow to Russia’s oil industry and its arms factories. To this end, Kiev is deploying long-range drones capable of penetrating several thousand kilometres deep into Russian territory, even as far as Siberia.
