Vienna, Aug 6 (dpa/GNA) – A report of an armed man in a jewellery shop in Vienna, triggered a major police operation on Thursday.
The suspect was not found during a search of the shop in the Währing district, police said, with investigations ongoing. A robbery alarm was triggered in the shop on Thursday afternoon.
A witness reported seeing a masked man who was believed to be carrying a firearm. The police deployed special forces and set up a wide cordon.
According to police, staff were able to leave the shop. No one was physically injured in the incident.
