Accra, Aug. 20, GNA – Applications are now open for the UK Government’s prestigious Chevening Scholarships, offering emerging leaders and professionals from Ghana the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree in the United Kingdom and to join a global network of future leaders.

A statement issued by the British High Commission in Accra, said funded by the UK Government through the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations, Chevening was more than a scholarship programme.

“It is a global network of future leaders committed to strengthening international partnerships and addressing shared challenges,” the statement said.

It said the opening of applications marked the start of a new recruitment cycle under the question “Are You Chevening Ready?” encouraging prospective applicants to look beyond eligibility requirements and reflect on their leadership journey, professional achievements and long-term ambitions before applying.

“Through education, partnerships and people-to-people connections, it strengthens the enduring relationship between the UK and Ghana.

“As we celebrate Ghana’s newest Chevening and Commonwealth Scholars and wish them well as they

prepare for study in the UK, we are also looking ahead to the next generation of leaders who will follow in their footsteps,” he said.

He encouraged prospective applicants to reflect carefully on their goals, the impact they want to make, and whether they were ready to become part of a global community of leaders committed to driving positive change.

The statement said the scholarship provided access to a world-class UK education, an immersive cultural experience and a lifelong connection to a global network of more than 60,000 Chevening alumni worldwide.

Scholars return home equipped with new knowledge, skills and international relationships to help address pressing challenges in areas including growth and prosperity, climate resilience, media, security and stability, and inclusive development.
