Sunyani, (Bono), Aug. 16, GNA – Mr Kwame Baffoe, incumbent Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to ensure that the Party regains all parliamentary seats in the region in the 2028 General Election.
He said the Party in the region needed to become formidable to recapture the 11 of the 12 constituency parliamentary seats it lost to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 General Election.
Mr Baffoe, popularly known in political circles as “Abronye DC,” gave the pledge in an interview with the media in Sunyani after NPP delegates re-elected him to lead the Party in the region in the just-ended NPP Regional Executive Elections.
He said his re-election had challenged him to do more, not only to ensure that former Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s 2028 presidential candidate, won the 2028 election, but also to ensure that the Party recaptured all the traditionally enshrined parliamentary seats in the region.
Looking ahead to the 2028 General Election, Mr Baffoe called on all candidates who lost the regional executive elections not to be discouraged or embittered, saying the Party needed their collective support and experience.
He said the NPP required a united and formidable front now more than ever to win the 2028 presidential election and, if not all, a majority of its lost parliamentary seats across the country.
Mr Baffoe described his re-election as a victory for the entire NPP in the Bono Region, saying the smooth conduct of the regional executive election was evidence that the Party was prepared and ready to win back political power.
He expressed appreciation to the delegates, Council of Elders, members and supporters of the NPP in the region for the confidence reposed in him and the other executives.
Mr Baffoe assured that he and the other executives would serve the Party diligently, selflessly and with humility, and remain dedicated to achieving the NPP’s vision of regaining political power in the next General Election.
