Accra, Aug. 6, GNA – Nestlé Ghana, in collaboration with key partners in the food and agriculture sector, has launched the “Taste of Ghana” campaign to promote the consumption of nutritious locally prepared meals while supporting the country’s agricultural value chains.
The initiative seeks to encourage Ghanaians to appreciate indigenous dishes made from locally sourced ingredients and highlight the role of healthy diets in improving nutrition and overall well-being.
The campaign also aims to strengthen linkages between farmers, food processors, chefs, nutrition experts and consumers by showcasing the diversity and nutritional value of Ghanaian cuisine.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, Mark Okyere-Mensah, Category Manager – Culinary at MAGGI Ghana, said the initiative aligns with national efforts to improve food security, reduce malnutrition and promote sustainable food systems through increased patronage of locally produced food using its Maggi DꜪdꜪꜪdꜪ.
He noted that Ghana’s rich culinary heritage offers nutritious meal options capable of addressing dietary challenges while creating economic opportunities for farmers and small businesses engaged in food production and processing.
Mr Okyere-Mensah said campaign would feature culinary demonstrations, nutrition education, digital engagement, community outreach programmes and partnerships with food vendors and hospitality establishments to inspire healthier eating habits among Ghanaians.
Brand Manager for Maggi, Magherita Amon said Maggi Dedede seasoning is at the centre of the company’s latest campaign to promote authentic Ghanaian cuisine, citing its versatility and blend of locally familiar ingredients as key selling points.
She said Maggi D3d33d3 was selected as the featured product because it complements a wide variety of Ghanaian dishes while delivering a distinctive local flavour.
The initiative forms part of Maggi’s commitment to bringing families, friends and communities together through good food.
Also, the initiative is designed not only to promote the Maggi brand but also to celebrate the unique identities, cultures and attractions that make each region of Ghana distinctive, encouraging Ghanaians to explore the country’s food, history and tourism offerings.
Celebrating the rich culinary traditions of Ghana’s 16 regions, the performances highlighted the country’s diverse cuisines, with the dancers encouraging participants to use Maggi products to enhance the flavour of their meals.
The event also marked the appointment of four entertainment personalities and social media content creators as Brand Ambassadors for Maggi D3d33d3. They are comic actor and television presenter Akrobeto (born Akwesi Boadi), Princess Ama Burland, Kojo Junior and Jean Claude.
