Tehran, Aug 3 (dpa/GNA) – Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, said on Sunday that the framework agreement with the United States would form the basis of his country’s foreign relations with Washington.
“We must do everything to force the enemy to adhere to what it has signed,” Pezeshkian wrote on the platform X. This declaration of intent would strengthen the security of Iran, the region and Tehran’s allies, he said.
Iran and the US agreed a framework agreement in mid-June to end the war. Further details were to be worked out during a 60-day transitional period, but there have been repeated mutual attacks in the meantime.
US President Donald Trump recently said he had called off a new wave of attacks against Iran because there were now “outlines of an agreement.” There was initially no confirmation from Iran.
