Ho (V/R), Aug. 4, GNA-The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA Ghana), has redeemed its GHS10,000 pledge to the Volta Youth Development Fund, reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable development in the Volta Region.
The donation was presented during a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, Mr James Gunu, by a delegation from the Institute led by its Director, Mr Emmanuel Arthur, and Legal Director, Madam Joyce Adu.
The visit was also to express the Institute’s appreciation to the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) for its support in the successful hosting of the 2026 Accountants’ Conference in Ho.
Presenting the cheque, Madam Joyce Adu said the donation fulfilled a pledge made by the Institute during the closing ceremony of the conference held in May this year.
She said ICA Ghana recognised the importance of investing in young people and was pleased to support the Volta Youth Development Fund to promote youth empowerment and skills development in the region.
Madam Adu expressed gratitude to the Regional Coordinating Council and stakeholders for their collaboration, which contributed to the success of the conference, noting that the warm hospitality extended to participants had made the event memorable.
Receiving the donation, Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, expressed appreciation to ICA Ghana for honouring its pledge and supporting the region’s youth development agenda.
He said the contribution demonstrated the Institute’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its desire to partner with the government in promoting opportunities for young people.
The Minister reiterated the commitment of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to strengthen partnerships with professional bodies, corporate organisations and development partners to accelerate socio-economic development across the region.
He noted that the Volta Youth Development Fund was established to support initiatives that empower young people through education, skills training, entrepreneurship, and other development interventions.
Mr Gunu assured the delegation that the donation would be used judiciously to benefit young people and contribute to the sustainable development of the Volta Region.
ICA Ghana pledged the GHS10,000 donations during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Accountants’ Conference held in Ho in May, where it committed to supporting the Volta Youth Development Fund as part of its contribution to youth empowerment in the region.
