Nyankpala Tuunayili (N/R), Aug. 04, GNA – GlobeServe Ministries International has held the maiden graduation ceremony of its Globe Serve Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurial Training School, at Nyankpala Tuunayili in the Tolon District of the Northern Region.
A total of 42 youth graduated after undergoing nine months of intensive skills training in wood technology, electrical installation, electronics, building and construction, welding and fabrication, and plumbing.
The training was aimed at equipping them with employable and entrepreneurial skills to contribute to national development, while helping to reduce youth unemployment.
As part of the graduation ceremony, each graduate received a certificate and startup toolkit to support the establishment of their careers and businesses.
Reverend Samuel Anthony Kofi Dunya, the Founder and President of GlobeServe Ministries International, described the graduation as the beginning of a movement to restore dignity through skills, discipline, creativity and hard work.
He said the institution was committed to complementing the government’s efforts to expand Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the country.
Rev. Dunya said the graduates had not merely completed courses but had acquired practical competencies to solve problems, create opportunities, and transform their communities through productive work.
He said GlobeServe Ministries International was interested not only in the spiritual transformation of people but also in the economic empowerment of young people through quality vocational education adding skills development remained one of the most effective tools for reducing poverty and unemployment.
He urged the graduates to uphold honesty, discipline, reliability and excellence in their careers, stressing that their greatest advertisement would not be their certificates but the quality of services they rendered to customers and society.
Rev. Dunya the beneficiaries to use their professions to improve lives by restoring hope, promoting public health, creating employment and contributing to national development, saying every trade was a calling and every skill a ministry.
He said the ministry had also established vocational schools at Bunbon in the Yendi Municipality and Adidome in the Volta Region, as well as basic schools in parts of the Volta region and the Zabzugu District, to expand access to quality education, skills training and nurturing future leaders.
Mr Abdul Aziz Abdul Latif, the Northern Regional Deputy Director of Ghana TVET Service, who represented the Regional Director, congratulated the graduates and described the ceremony as a historic milestone that would inspire more young people to pursue technical and vocational education.
He said Ghana’s industrial transformation depended largely on a highly skilled workforce explaining that government continued to prioritise competency-based TVET as a strategic pathway to industrialisation, job creation and sustainable economic growth.
He also urged the private sector to strengthen partnerships with TVET institutions through internships, apprenticeships, mentorship, and employment opportunities.
Mr Nsambo Abdul Razak, the Chief of Nyankpala Tuunayili, commended Globe Serve Ministries International for establishing the training school and investing in the development of young people, saying the initiative would improve livelihoods and promote community development.
He encouraged the graduates to make good use of the skills they had acquired to become productive members of society and appealed to GlobeServe Ministries International and other NGOs to support the community with potable water to improve the living conditions of residents.
