Ho (V/R), Aug. 7, GNA – The Global Management Challenge (GMC) Ghana has officially launched the 2026 National Challenge, inviting corporate organisations, public institutions, tertiary institutions, business schools, entrepreneurs and young professionals to participate in the world’s leading business and management simulation competition.
The competition offers participants the opportunity to manage virtual companies in a highly competitive business environment, where teams make strategic decisions on finance, marketing, operations and human resource management.
It aims to strengthen leadership, teamwork, innovation, critical thinking and decision-making skills while bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world business practice.
Speaking at the virtual launch, Mr Joao Matoso Henriques, the Global Chief Executive Officer of GMC and SDG, described the competition as an effective platform for nurturing future business leaders through practical learning and innovation.
He encouraged organisations and institutions across Ghana to register teams for the 2026 National Challenge, saying the competition would provide participants with valuable international exposure and practical management experience.
Mr Henriques welcomed Ghana’s return to the Global Management Challenge after years of absence, describing it as an important milestone in reconnecting the country with the world’s premier strategic management competition.
He recalled Ghana’s impressive performance at the 2013 Global Management Challenge International Finals in Kyiv, Ukraine, where Team Ghana demonstrated outstanding strategic thinking and management excellence on the global stage.

The Global CEO expressed confidence that Ghana’s re-entry into the competition would inspire a new generation of students, young professionals and corporate teams to showcase their talents internationally.
Reverend Dr Maxwell D. Y. Gakpo, the Country Director of Trimonde Ghana and Global Management Challenge Ghana, commended the organising team for its dedication and hard work in successfully relaunching the competition in the country.
He said the relaunch marked a renewed commitment to developing strategic leadership, innovation and management excellence among Ghanaian professionals and students while strengthening Ghana’s participation in the global GMC network.
Ms Miriam Doe, the Programmes Director of GMC Ghana, said the 2026 competition would consist of preliminary simulation rounds, national semi-finals and a grand finale, with the overall winner earning the right to represent Ghana at the 2026 Global Management Challenge International Finals.
She encouraged organisations to sponsor teams as part of their leadership development and talent management programmes, while urging tertiary institutions to integrate the competition into practical business and management education.
Registration for both university student teams and corporate teams is currently open at gmc.trimonde.org, with the deadline set for August 31, 2026.
The Global Management Challenge is the national franchise of the world’s leading business and management strategy simulation competition, dedicated to promoting strategic leadership, innovation and managerial excellence among professionals and students worldwide.
