Techiman (Bono East) Aug. 20, GNA – The Energy Commission has trained hotel managers in the Bono East Region on energy efficiency and management.
The day’s training benefited about 50 hotel managers who were taken through proper use of energy-efficient appliances and equipment, industrial energy efficiency, as well as building energy management systems.
Speaking at the opening session of the training at Techiman, the regional capital, Mr Richard Donkor, a facilitator from the Energy Commission advised the managers to ensure judicious use of energy at their workplaces.
He said the commission remained dedicated to promoting efficient energy use and promoting the use of standard and efficient appliances for energy conservation.
Mr Donkor stressed the need for the managers to change their attitudes towards energy use and to help reduce the nation’s energy consumption.
He said energy-efficient appliances and equipment were designed to consume less energy and advised them to use LED bulbs and other appliances and less energy consuming electrical gadgets.
Mr Samuel Frimpong, the Public Relations Officer at the Energy Commission, explained that the training was being organised across the country to equip hoteliers with the required knowledge and to use electricity judiciously.
