Koforidua, Aug. 10, GNA – The Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service (GES) have commenced training for heads of second-cycle institutions in the Eastern Region ahead of the 2026 admission exercise.
The orientation programme, held in Koforidua, brought together heads of Senior High Schools, Senior High Technical Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to strengthen their understanding of admission procedures and operational guidelines.
Facilitators from the Ministry of Education took participants through the technical processes and protocols required to ensure a smooth, transparent, and effective admission exercise.
Dr Ivy Asantewa Owusu, Eastern Regional Director of Education, explained that the programme was designed to equip heads of institutions with the requisite knowledge to effectively manage the admission process.
The orientation was organised in two cohorts, according to Dr Owusu, to ensure that participants had adequate opportunities to engage facilitators and gain a clear understanding of the admission procedures.
She expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service for organising the programme.
Dr Owusu noted that the training would strengthen the preparedness of heads of institutions ahead of the admission exercise.
She also noted that the orientation also provided an opportunity to reinforce the Ghana Education Service’s admission protocols and operational policies among heads of institutions.
Dr Owusu urged participants to pay close attention to the training and ensure that the knowledge and guidance provided by facilitators were properly understood and applied during the admission exercise.
She expressed confidence that the programme would enhance the preparedness of participating heads and enable them to effectively implement approved procedures during the 2026 admission exercise.
