Wenchi (Bono), Aug. 1, GNA – Mr Julius Neequaye Kotey, Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), has commended Osagyefo Ampem Anye Amoampong Tabrako III, Paramount Chief of the Wenchi Traditional Area, for his generosity towards the Authority.
During a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief at his palace in Wenchi, Mr Kotey said the traditional ruler deserved commendation for releasing acres of land for the construction of a permanent DVLA office in the Bono Region.
He explained that the project was initiated by his predecessor, Mr Kwasi Agyeman Busia, a native of Wenchi, during his tenure as DVLA Chief Executive Officer under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Mr Kotey expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the project and indicated that it would soon be completed and handed over for use.
He said the establishment of a permanent DVLA office in Wenchi was necessary to bring the Authority’s services closer to the people and improve service delivery in the area.
Mr Kotey noted that the facility would enhance access to DVLA services, reduce the burden of travelling long distances, and improve operational efficiency.
Osagyefo Tabrako III commended the DVLA for decentralising its services, describing the initiative as beneficial to residents of the area.
He said the establishment of the office had also created employment opportunities for the youth and contributed to local development.
