Wa (UW/R), Aug. 24, GNA – Azumah Resources Ghana Limited (ARGL), a subsidiary of Dzata Group Holdings, has donated GH₵100,000 towards the organisation of the 2026 Dumba Festival of the Wala Traditional Area.
The support formed part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) interventions aimed at strengthening the cultural heritage and traditions of its host communities.
Mr Prince Awuah, the Project Director of ARGL, presented the donation to the 2026 Dumba Planning Committee in Wa at the weekend, on behalf of Dr Ibrahim Mahama, the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dzata Group Holdings.
The donation included an undisclosed amount to Wa Naa, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, and 200 branded T-shirts to support the Jonjo Palace’s “Jonjo Walk” as part of activities in the run-up to the 2026 Dumba Festival celebration.
ARGL recognised that the Dumba Festival is an important cultural event of the chiefs and people of the Wala Traditional Area, which provides a platform for the celebration and preservation of the history, traditions and cultural heritage of the Wala people.
Presenting the donation, Mr Awuah observed that cultural festivals played an important role in preserving the cultural heritage of people, promoting peace, unity, and community development.
“Our support reflects our commitment to being a responsible corporate partner to the communities and traditional institutions within our operational areas,” he said.
He indicated that it was an honour for Dr Ibrahim Mahama and ARGL to be associated with the 2026 edition of the festival and prayed for a peaceful, successful, and memorable celebration.
Jinpenhi Naa, Naa Kardri Ibrahim, the Secretary to the Wa Naa, expressed appreciation to ARGL and Dr Ibrahim Mahama for the support extended to the Wa Naa and the Dumba Planning Committee.
He assured the company of the support and guidance of the traditional council in its operations for the benefit of the communities, the Upper West Region and Ghana.
Naa Kardri assured them that the doors of the council were open to the company for advice and support in its operations in the region.
Receiving the donation, Naa Abdulai Osman Bilintoh, the Chief of Duri in the Wala Traditional Area and Chairman of the 2026 Dumba Planning Committee, commended ARGL for the support.
He said the contribution would have a significant impact on the organisation of the festival, considering the financial commitment needed for its success.
Naa Bilintoh said the support was in response to a request made by the Dumba Planning Committee and expressed appreciation to the company for responding positively.
He prayed for the success of ARGL’s operations in the region to help contribute to the development of its host communities, the Upper West Region, and the country.
He appealed to other organisations and individuals to support the committee to ensure the successful organisation of the 2026 Dumba Festival.
