Kiev, Aug 3 (dpa/GNA) – At least two people have been killed and 31 others injured, in Russian airstrikes on the major Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhya, regional military administrator Ivan Fedorov posted on Telegram on Sunday.
Fedorov said two glide bombs had exploded in the city, with the injured toll rising from 21 to 31. Several residential buildings were damaged in the attack.
In the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, a woman was killed in a drone strike on a car, the regional administration said. Two other occupants of the vehicle were injured.
Russia has been waging all-out war against Ukraine for nearly four and a half years. With front lines currently at a standstill, the Russian military has been subjecting Ukraine’s civilian population to relentless airstrikes.
Ukraine, for its part, has been striking Russia’s oil industry, arms factories and key infrastructure with long-range drones in an effort to hamper Moscow’s war effort.
