Accra, Aug. 31, GNA – The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, has called on pastors, church leaders and members to intensify mobilisation efforts towards the successful hosting of the 10th Triennial Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship in Ghana.
He made the call on Sunday at the Cedar Mountain Chapel in Accra during the official launch of the World Congress at the local church level.
The global congress, scheduled for October 14 to 16, 2026, is expected to attract about 10,000 pastors, ministers and church leaders from Assemblies of God churches across the world.
Rev. Wengam said Ghana’s hosting of the congress marked a historic milestone, as it would be the first time in the 110-year history of the Assemblies of God Fellowship that the event would be held in the country.
He said the main activities would take place at the Independence Square and the Accra Sports Stadium.
According to him, participation in the daytime sessions at the Independence Square, which would feature seminars, workshops and working sessions, would attract a registration fee of GHĀ¢100, while evening revival rallies at the Accra Sports Stadium would be open to the public free of charge.
“The value of the spiritual exercise at the stadium cannot be quantified. It is inestimable, to say the least,” Rev. Wengam stated.
The General Superintendent recalled that the Global Chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, Rev. Dominic Yeo, officially launched the congress on November 14, 2025, at in Accra.
The congress is being held under the theme: “Commissioned: One Mandate, Every rallies,” describing their participation as a demonstration of gratitude for the privilege of hosting the global gathering.
“We as members of this great church in Ghana have a rare responsibility imposed by heaven to fill every available space at the Accra Sports Stadium,” he said.
He further called on pastors, deacons, deaconesses, church leaders and congregants to use the congress as an opportunity to project Assemblies of God Ghana positively to the international community.
Rev. Wengam said the opportunity to host the congress was both a manifestation of God’s grace and a great honour for the church in Ghana.
He noted that beyond glorifying God, the congress sought to revitalise and strengthen Assemblies of God churches worldwide.
With Ghana expected to be under global attention during the event, he urged members to showcase the nation’s hospitality and the church’s achievements to delegates and visitors from around the world.
The General Superintendent said the congress would also provide a platform for advancing the spiritual mission of the fellowship, including discussions on the MM33 vision of planting one million churches worldwide by 2033 to mark 2,000 years since the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He stressed that achieving the vision would require renewed commitment and collaboration between church leadership and the membership.
Rev. Wengam said Assemblies of God Ghana’s Transformational Agenda, which focuses on church planting, legacy temple construction and evangelism, aligned with the broader vision and efforts for the congress, with the message expected to be carried to Assemblies of God congregations across the country.
Expressing appreciation to members of Cedar Mountain Chapel for their support throughout his pastoral and leadership journey, Rev. Wengam, who is also the Head Pastor of the church, appealed for continued prayers and support for the success of the congress.
He described Cedar Mountain Chapel as his “Jerusalem” and expressed confidence in its continued growth and spiritual development.
Rev. Wengam formally declared the 10th Triennial Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship launched at the local level and urged members to remain focused on the event.
“From today, pray Congress, dream Congress, think Congress, talk Congress and act Congress,” he said.
