Aflao (VR), July 23, GNA – Mr Joseph Lanson K. A. Kukpawu, the Ketu South Municipal Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in Volta Region, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency.
He said his decision to enter the race was driven by his commitment to strengthening the party’s communication machinery, fostering unity among members, and enhancing grassroots engagement across the constituency.
Mr Kukpawu, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said effective communication, unity and dedicated leadership would remain the pillars of a strong political party, and that the NDC’s continued dominance in Ketu South, would depend largely on how well the party communicated its vision to the electorate.
The YEA Director said if elected, he would work closely with the constituency communications team, branch executives and party members to ensure the NDC’s message was communicated clearly and consistently, while promoting collaboration at all levels of the party structure.
He pledged to create a platform that would encourage active participation by party members, listen to their concerns, and ensure that all views would be reflected in the party’s overall communication strategy going forward.
Mr Kukpawu also said he would work diligently to project a positive image of the NDC, strengthen the party’s structures and support mobilisation efforts aimed at maintaining the party’s dominance in the constituency ahead of future elections.
He said his experience leading the Youth Employment Agency in the constituency had exposed him to the concerns of the youth and grassroots members, an experience he believed would be valuable in shaping a more responsive and inclusive communication strategy for the party.
Mr Kukpawu appealed for the support of delegates and called on members of the party to entrust him with the mandate to serve as Deputy Communications Officer, and assured of accountable leadership, effective communication and unwavering dedication to the growth and unity of the NDC in Ketu South.
“I am committed to serving with dedication, accountability and honesty. Together, we can build a stronger, more united Ketu South and position our party for greater success,” Mr Kukpawu said.
He expressed confidence that, with the support of delegates and party members, he would deliver a communications team capable of consolidating the NDC’s gains in Ketu South and rallying members behind the party’s agenda in subsequent electoral contests.
