Sege, July 02, GNA-Dr Divine Kabutey Agyemang-Lardey, a medical professional in public health and an Executive Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Sege Constituency, has appealed to the government to ensure that all flood-affected communities’ benefit from relief interventions.
The appeal follows his visit to several communities affected by recent flooding to assess the extent of the destruction and interact with victims.
Dr Agyemang-Lardey expressed concern over the widespread damage caused by the floods, which displaced families, destroyed homes, affected farmlands, and disrupted livelihoods.

He urged the government to ensure that relief items and any financial assistance earmarked for flood victims are distributed fairly and reach every deserving community.
According to him, communities such as Luhuor, Salom, Bonikope, Segese, Wokumagbe, Akplabanya, Anyamam, Kportitsekope, and Kablevu should be considered in all relief efforts due to the impact of the floods on residents.
“The suffering of affected residents should not be overlooked. Relief efforts must be fair, timely, and inclusive so that no community is left behind,” he said.
Dr Agyemang-Lardey also appealed to non-governmental organisations, corporate institutions, faith-based organisations, philanthropists, and benevolent individuals to support the affected communities with food, clothing, medicine, bedding, clean drinking water, and other essential relief items.
“This is a time for compassion and solidarity. Together, we can help our brothers and sisters recover from this unfortunate disaster. No affected community He stated, “No affected community should be left behind.”,” he stated.

He assured residents that he would continue to advocate their welfare and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that assistance reaches those most in need.
Recent heavy rains have caused flooding in parts of the Ada West District, destroying homes, inundating farmlands, and displacing several families, prompting calls for immediate humanitarian support and long-term flood mitigation measures.
