President Mahama nominates three persons for appointment to Supreme Court

Accra, July 17, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama has nominated two Court of Appeal Judges and a former President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) for appointment as Supreme Court Judges. 

They are Justice Sophia Rosetta Bernasko Essah and Justice Edward Amoako Asante, both Court of Appeal Judges, and Mr Tony Forson, a private legal practitioner and a former President of the GBA. 

In line with the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, the nominations are in accordance with the advice of the Judicial Council and in consultation with the Council of State. 

The nominees will now need approval from Parliament.
