Oti Regional Minister visits exercise starlight II troops, donates 50 bags of rice

Dambai (O/R), July 15, GNA – Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, has paid a working visit to the training camp of Exercise Starlight II in Nkwanta to welcome security personnel deployed to support ongoing peace and security operations in the municipality.  

The visit formed part of efforts by the Oti Regional Coordinating Council to encourage the personnel and reaffirm government’s commitment to supporting security agencies in the discharge of their duties.  

Addressing the officers and men, Mr Gyapong commended them for their professionalism, discipline and dedication to safeguarding lives and property.  

He urged the personnel to remain vigilant, impartial, and committed to their constitutional mandate of maintaining law and order while ensuring the safety of residents in Nkwanta and surrounding communities.  

The Regional Minister stressed the need for the security agencies to enforce the law fairly, firmly and without discrimination, emphasizing that anyone found to have breached the laws of the country should be dealt with strictly in accordance with due process.  

He assured the troops of the Regional Coordinating Council’s continuous support and pledged closer collaboration with the security services to sustain peace and stability in the municipality.  

As part of the visit, Mr Gyapong donated 50 bags of rice to the personnel to support their welfare throughout the operation.  

He expressed appreciation to the security agencies for their sacrifices and dedication to national service, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing the necessary logistical support to enable them to perform their duties effectively.  

Exercise Starlight II forms part of ongoing security operations aimed at restoring lasting peace, protecting lives and property and enhancing public safety in the Nkwanta Municipality.
