Hohoe (V/R), July 30, GNA – The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Afadzato South District, has donated relief items to victim of a recent fire outbreak at the Leklebi Senior High School.
The House Master of the School’s apartment was gutted by fire compelling students to help before the arrival of the Ghana National Fire Service personnel, leading to the injury.
Mr Maxwell Worlanyo Korkutse, Afadzato South District Director of NADMO, said the donation formed an interim support to help the victim recover from the devastating fire outbreak while providing immediate relief during the difficult period.
The relief items included mattresses, blankets, bags of rice and cooking oil to ease the immediate hardship caused by the incident.
Mr Korkutse said the intervention also formed part of NADMO’s mandate to provide timely humanitarian assistance to disaster victims, while further assessments were conducted to determine the need for additional support.
He reiterated the Organisation’s commitment to supporting disaster victims and ensuring that affected persons received necessary assistance to rebuild their lives.
Mr Korkutse urged the public to observe fire safety measures, adhere to safety regulations, and report emergencies promptly to help minimise the occurrence and impact of disasters within communities.
