NACOC engages Zion Felix to champion drug-free lifestyle among youth

Accra, July 28, GNA – The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has engaged renowned Ghanaian blogger and media personality Zion Felix to explore strategic collaboration, aimed at promoting a drug-free lifestyle among young people across the country.  

A statement issued by the Commission to the Ghana News Agency, said the meeting was led by the Mr Alexander Twum-Barimah (Esq), Deputy Director-General in charge of Enforcement, Control and Elimination, who underscored the vital role of social media influencers and digital content creators in shaping attitudes and behaviours among the youth.  

He called on Zion Felix to leverage his wide reach and influence to amplify NACOC’s public education campaigns and prevention initiatives.  

The Deputy Director-General stressed that collective efforts were essential to protecting young people from the dangers of substance abuse and promoting healthy and responsible lifestyles.  

Mr Twum-Barimah noted that prevention remained one of the most effective tools in addressing drug abuse, encouraging stronger partnerships with media personalities who could communicate positive messages in ways that resonated with young audiences.  

Zion Felix welcomed the initiative and expressed his readiness to support the Commission’s mission by using his platforms to educate the public, especially the youth, on the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of making informed and healthy choices.  

The meeting was attended by PNCO Ernestina Adjei, the Acting Director of Drug Demand Reduction, Mr. Felix Agariga, the Director of Intelligence, and the Head of the Public Affairs Department.
