Sunyani (Bono), July 31, GNA – Mr David Nana Addei, the MTN Ghana’s Mobile Money (MOMO) Manager in-charge of Northern Ghana, says the company remains committed to creating a cashless economy in the country through the MOMO application.
“The MOMO is determined to reduce the carrying of physical cash from one place to another to protect Ghanaian traders from losing their money to thieves and armed robbers,” he said.
Mr Addei said this at the MTN’s annual media and stakeholders’ engagement at Sunyani, urging customers who borrowed money from their MOMO accounts to repay their loans.
He explained that MOMO had recruited over 350,000 agents nationwide, providing excellent services and products to customers, and assured them to improve the quality of services in local communities.
Mr Addei said MTN Ghana had also established the ‘MTN Community Shops’ to provide services like purchasing and replacement of SIM cards, as well as resetting of Pin Codes.
“So, there isn’t the need to walk to the MTN’s main offices for those services,” he stated.
Dr Lawrence Akosen, the Senior Manager, Customer Experience Planning and Enablement at MTN Ghana, pledged the company’s commitment to deliver quality services and to boost trust and confidence of customers in service delivery.
He said that over the past 30 years, excellent customer care remained the backbone of the company and pledged the MTN’s dedication to remain innovative, do more and give back to society through the implementation of its Corporate Social Responsibility programmes.
Dr Akosen said plans were far advanced for MTN Ghana to establish 800 new sites to break network barriers and improve network connectivity, adding that the company had been connecting communities and businesses to improve the growth of the economy, committing $1.1billion for such network expansion.
