Nanton (N/R), July 21, GNA – Mr Alhassan Fuseini, a journalist in the Northern Region, has declared his intention to contest the position of Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nanton Constituency.

He said his decision to transition from journalism into active politics was motivated by his desire to deploy his professional communication skills to strengthen the party’s public engagement and promote issue-based political discourse.

Mr Fuseini, speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Tamale, said his years in journalism had equipped him with the knowledge, experience and credibility needed to effectively communicate the party’s vision, policies and programmes to the electorate.

He said effective communication remained the backbone of every successful political organisation, adding that his professional background had prepared him to project the party’s achievements while engaging the public with honesty, accuracy and professionalism.

“Communication is at the heart of every successful organisation, particularly a political party, and I believe my professional background has adequately prepared me to help project the party’s vision, policies and achievements while engaging the public with honesty and professionalism,” he said.

Mr Fuseini said if elected, he would introduce a modern communication strategy that combined traditional and digital media platforms to enhance the party’s visibility and strengthen engagement with members and the general public.

He said he would also prioritise building stronger working relationships with journalists, improving internal communication within the party in the constituency, and ensuring prompt and accurate responses to issues of public interest.

Mr Fuseini described his vision as ushering in “a new era of communication” for the constituency and expressed confidence that a strategic communication approach would deepen grassroots participation, strengthen party unity and improve public confidence in the party’s activities.
