Hodzo (V/R), July 14, GNA – The Ho Municipal Assembly has donated relief items to families affected by recent flooding at Hodzo in the Volta Region, reaffirming its commitment to supporting vulnerable residents during emergencies.
The donation was led by Mr Stephen Adom, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ho, and Mr Edem Kofi Kpotosu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, as part of efforts to provide immediate relief to households displaced and affected by the floods.
Presenting the items, Mr Adom expressed sympathy to affected families and assured them of the Assembly’s continued support during the recovery process.
He said the Assembly would continue to work closely with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other stakeholders to assist residents affected by the disaster.
“The donation forms part of our commitment to ensuring that no affected family is left behind. We stand with the people of Hodzo and will continue to support them as we work together to restore normalcy,” he said.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Adom urged residents to remain vigilant during the rainy season, observe safety precautions and cooperate with relevant authorities to minimise the impact of flooding.
He said the Assembly remained committed to strengthening disaster response systems and promoting community resilience to enable residents to recover quickly from emergencies.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Alfred Adadzie, Assembly Member for the area, expressed appreciation to the Municipal Assembly and the MP for the timely intervention.
He said the relief items would bring comfort and hope to affected households and appealed to organisations, philanthropists and development partners to support ongoing relief and recovery efforts in the community.
