Prampram, July 14, GNA — Reverend Dr Harry Kwatei Owoo, the newly appointed Chief Director of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (GARCC), has introduced a five-point leadership framework to guide the work of staff of metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs).
The framework, which he described as the “5 Ps” — Purpose, Punctuality, Productivity, Professionalism and Performance — was unveiled during a familiarisation visit to the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly (NiPDA).
The visit, which followed his assumption of office in May, was to enable him to familiarise himself with the assembly’s management and staff, as well as share his vision for the growth and development of the district.
Rev. Dr Owoo explained that the “5 Ps” represented understanding the purpose of one’s work, maintaining punctuality and consistent commitment, making efficient use of time, upholding professional and ethical standards, and delivering measurable results.
He commended the management team of the assembly for their dedication and urged them to sustain their efforts while addressing areas that required improvement.
Mr Raphael Uriel Nartey, Ningo-Prampram District Chief Executive, briefed the Chief Director on the assembly’s operations, projects and achievements.
He said the assembly comprised four area councils, namely Prampram, Afienya, Dawa and Ningo, adding that it continued to establish its presence through various projects and development initiatives across the four areas.
Mr Nartey said the assembly had a staff strength of about 150, whom he described as hardworking, and noted that it had recorded significant achievements over the years.
He, however, identified staff welfare, poor road conditions, water shortages and inadequate working tools as some of the major challenges confronting the assembly.
He appealed to the Chief Director to support the assembly in addressing those challenges to enhance its operations and service delivery.
Mrs Vida Ayiku, Ningo-Prampram District Coordinating Director, thanked Rev. Dr Owoo and his delegation for the visit and assured him of management’s commitment to position the assembly among the best-performing districts in the Greater Accra Region.
