Wenchi, (Bono), July 17, GNA – Madam Gloria Opoku Gyamfi, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has ordered contractors to fix the defects and breaches on the newly reconstructed residential accommodation for the judicial service at Wenchi.
Her order followed a story carried by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the poor condition of the bungalow, which had been left unoccupied for months, with weeds overgrowing at the premises.
According to Mad Opoku, the engineers had since inspected the condition of the facility and identified some defects which ought to be repaired before use.
She was speaking on the Wenchi-based Radio West, a local radio station monitored by the GNA, saying that: “We have since served the contractor with a notice to fix the identified and visible defects on the bungalow”.
Contributing, Alhaji Seidu Haruna, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wenchi Constituency noted that the facility had poorly installed windows, substandard furniture and several leakages from the roofing.
He expressed worry that the contractor swayed from the original architectural designs and quality standards.
Alhaji Haruna also asked the contractor to complete the minor works and hand-over the facility to the judicial service for use.
