Ho, July 1, GNA – Mr Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, Minister for the Interior, says excess of 60 communities had been affected by floods in various parts of the Volta region.
He said seven communities were recorded in Keta, six in Anlo, six in Ketu South, six in Agortime-Ziope and eight in South Tongu.
Mr Muntaka on the Floor of Parliament addressing the House said six communities were also recorded in Ketu North, nine in Akatsi, two in Adaklu, three in Central Tongu, eight in Ho Municipality and two in North Tongu.
He said the floods in the communities were not life-threatening situations.
Mr Muntaka said a total of 7,761 households were displaced, 38,802 individuals affected, twelve deaths and seven missing were recorded after Monday, June 29 torrential rains in major parts of the country.
