Sunyani (Bono), July 17, GNA – The Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) Ghana has expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, chiefs, people of the Dagbon Kingdom and Ghanaians following the passing of the Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari II.

In a statement signed by Pastor Dr Edward Kofi Tumsiah, the National Overseer of DCLM Ghana, the Church said it received “with profound sorrow the news of the passing of His Royal Majesty of the Dagbon Kingdom.”

A copy of the statement made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani said: “On behalf of the leadership and the entire membership of the Church across Ghana, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, chiefs and people of the Dagbon Kingdom.”

The statement described the late Ya-Na Abukari II as a distinguished traditional ruler who served the Dagbon Kingdom with dignity, wisdom and an unwavering commitment to peace, unity and the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of his people.

It noted that his reign was marked by a deep sense of responsibility and dedication to fostering harmony, making him a respected statesman whose influence extended well beyond the traditional boundaries of the Kingdom.

The Church further stated that the loss was particularly personal to its National Overseer, Pastor Dr Edward Kofi Tumsiah, who enjoyed a warm and cordial relationship with the late Ya-Na during his tenure as the Regional Overseer of the Church in Tamale.

According to the statement, their relationship was built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to peaceful coexistence and the wellbeing of society.

Pastor Tumsiah remembered the late Ya-Na as a gracious, humble and approachable leader whose counsel, friendship and exemplary leadership would be greatly missed.

As the Dagbon Kingdom mourns its revered Overlord, the Church prayed that Almighty God would comfort the royal household, strengthen the chiefs and people of Dagbon, and grant the nation the grace and fortitude to bear the loss.

It also expressed the hope that the enduring legacy of Ya-Na Abukari II would continue to inspire generations to pursue peace, justice, unity and selfless leadership.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the royal family, the Dagbon Kingdom and the entire nation at this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
