Access bank partners Points Africa to expand rewards programme

Accra, July 31, GNA – Access Bank (Ghana) PLC has partnered with Points Africa to expand the benefits of its Rewards by Access loyalty programme and increasing the number of locations where customers can earn and redeem loyalty points.

The partnership is expected to provide Rewards by Access members with greater flexibility by allowing them to redeem points at a wider network of participating merchants, including restaurants, retail outlets, wellness providers, entertainment centres and other lifestyle destinations across the country.

The initiative forms part of the Bank’s strategy to deliver customer-focused banking solutions that reward customers for their everyday transactions.

Through the collaboration, Access Bank will leverage Points Africa’s merchant ecosystem to enhance the Rewards by Access programme and provide customers with more opportunities to benefit from the use of their Access Bank cards.

Currently, more than 65 merchant locations are available on the Points Africa platform.

Eligible Access Bank customers will continue to earn loyalty points automatically whenever they make purchases using their Access Bank cards and can redeem those points across the expanded merchant network.

Mr Eugene Ocansey, Executive Director for Retail and SME Banking at Access Bank Ghana, said the partnership reflected the Bank’s commitment to delivering value through innovation and strategic collaborations.

He said the Rewards by Access programme was designed to reward customers for their everyday banking activities, adding that the collaboration with Points Africa would provide customers with more relevant and rewarding experiences.

Mr Adam Meghji, Chief Commercial Officer of Points Africa, said the partnership would make loyalty rewards more practical by expanding the range of locations where customers could redeem points earned through their regular card transactions.

He said the collaboration was aimed at delivering greater convenience and value to Access Bank customers through an enhanced rewards experience.

The Bank said existing Rewards by Access members would not be required to take any additional steps to benefit from the expanded merchant network.

It said eligible customers would continue to earn points through their card transactions and redeem them at participating merchant locations across the country.

Access Bank said details on programme eligibility, participating merchants, earning mechanisms and applicable terms and conditions would be communicated directly to customers.

The Bank said the partnership formed part of its broader strategy to strengthen its customer value proposition by delivering innovative products and services that respond to the evolving banking and lifestyle needs of its customers.
