Bonsawire (W/R), June 6, GNA – As part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery, the Tarkwa May Legends, an association comprising people born in May and residing in Tarkwa and its environs, has donated medical equipment worth GH¢30,000.00 to the Bonsawire Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound.
The items included delivery sets, pulse oximeters, baby weighing scales, dressing sets, digital thermometers, nebuliser machines, circumcision sets, and examination lamps.
Other items were movable blood pressure apparatus, gauze rolls, cotton wool, disinfectants, surgical gloves, privacy screens, and body mass index (BMI) scales with height measurement.
Presenting the items, Mrs Mary Addison-Flynn, Chairperson of the association, said the group remained committed to supporting healthcare initiatives within the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality.
She explained that an assessment was conducted at the Bonsawire CHPS Compound to identify its most pressing needs before the donation.
Mrs Addison-Flynn commended members of the association for their continuous support towards improving quality healthcare delivery in the municipality and urged the management of the facility to ensure proper maintenance and effective utilisation of the items.
Madam Rita Dua Dodd, Municipal Public Health Nurse and Deputy Nursing Officer, received the items on behalf of the facility.
She expressed gratitude to the association and assured that the equipment would be regularly maintained and used to enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
