Sunyani fans confident in Black Stars

Sunyani, (Bono), June 17, GNA – Football fans and enthusiasts in Sunyani, the Bono Regional have expressed confidence in the Ghana Black Stars, as the national team plays Panama in the on-going 2026 World Cup in Canada tonight. 
 
According to them their hopes and expectations remained higher, urging the playing body to do their best and not to disappoint the nation. 
 
In a random interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) sports in Sunyani, the fans noted that securing at least a lone goal in the encounter “wouldn’t be all that bad”. 
 
Mr Sam Osei, a cabbie who plied the Sunyani-Abesim highway, said the national team ought to do their best and secured a victory in their first opening match. 
 
He said a victory for the Black Stars would not only boost the morale of the players but greatly strengthen the nation’s support base for the team. 
 
Madam Joyce Anima, a trader at the Sunyani Central Business District said that she had confidence in the Black Stars, however stressed the need for the players to approach the match with zeal, determination and winning mentality. 
 
“Panama isn’t stronger than our side and we expect more goals from the Black Stars”, Miss Fati Alhassan, a journalist stated. 
 
 For her, the players required team work if they could make an impact in the world cup and asked them to be inspired by love for the nation and deliver their best. 
 
“Securing the three points today will put the nation in a favorable position ahead of our tougher encounters against England and Croatia”, Mr Stephen Ansu, a teacher, stated. 
 
He urged the players to pride themselves as Ghanaians and ‘raised the Ghana flag higher in Canada”, urging the nation’s support base in Canada to also boost the morale of the national team.
