One aspirant disqualified from contesting NPP executive position in Adaklu

Adaklu Goefe (V/R), June 29, GNA – One person out of the thirty people who picked nomination forms to contest for the various New Patriotic Party (NPP) positions in the Adaklu Constituency, has been disqualified after their vetting. 

Mr Christian Gamakuno, who picked a form to contest for the position of Deputy Secretary was disqualified, for not possessing the requisite qualification. 

Mr Walter Wogbemase Zu, the Secretary of the Election Committee in the Constituency disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in a telephone interview. 

He mentioned those cleared to contest for the Chairmanship as Mr Seth Shapah, the current Acting Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Awude Gbeku, a former Chairman, Mr Mawunyo Charles Aklaku and Mr Aaron Feron-Fenuku. 

Mr Zu said Ms Love Akosua Kpedekpo, Mr George Amegboe, Mr Setsoafia Raymond and Mr Carlos Elikem Atidoh were also cleared to contest the first Vice Chairman position. 

He said while Mr Gli Worlasi, Mr Daniel Sena Fiati and Mr Bismarck Mamah Ganyo would be contesting for the Second Vice Chairman position, Mr Charles Kuddy and Mr Semekor Happy Yao, would vie for the Secretary position. 

Mr Zu stated that Mr Nelson Krakasu was the only person cleared for the Deputy Secretary position. 

He stated that three people were also cleared to contest for the Treasurer position and mentioned them as Mr Barasu Emmanuel Kay, Mr Amos Amanu and Mr Nyadzi Mawuli. 

“Mr Evans Akorli, Mr Sogbey George Kwasi and Mr Obed Dotse Kwame are contesting for the Organiser position,” he said. 

Mr Zu stated that Mr Godwin Klutse, Mr Ewayi Freeman, and Mr Barasu Paul Atsu would slot it out for the Youth Organiser position. 

He said Madam Comfort Agbele and Pearl Sedinam Anyadi were the contestants for the Women Organiser position, while Mr Tsatsu Frank, Mr David Kofi Avor and Mr Kottoh Bright would be contesting for the Communication Officer position were  

Mr Zu said Alhaji Abdulai Tijani was the sole contestant for the NASSARA Coordinator position. 

He said the elections would take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at a venue yet to be decided.
