Nii Lantey Vanderpuye resigns as DRIP Coordinator to pursue NDC executive position

Accra, June 15, GNA – Mr Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has resigned from his position as National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) to pursue an executive role within the National Democratic Congress (NDC). 

In a statement issued to the Ghana News Agency on Sunday, Mr Vanderpuye said the decision followed careful reflection aimed at enabling him to take on new responsibilities within the party. 

“It has been a great honour and privilege to serve His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana in this role,” he was quoted as saying. 

Mr Vanderpuye expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and the opportunity to contribute to a programme focused on improving local infrastructure and enhancing livelihoods across communities. 

“My resignation is to enable me to pursue a National Executive position within our great party, the National Democratic Congress,” he stated. 

He explained that the decision was driven by his desire to continue serving the party and the country in a different capacity while supporting the strengthening of democratic institutions. 

Mr Vanderpuye reaffirmed his commitment to the vision of President Mahama and the ideals of the NDC, expressing optimism about the future of the DRIP. 

He noted that he was leaving office with “immense gratitude” and pride in the work accomplished during his tenure.
