Kumasi, June 20, GNA – Organisers of the Love Ghana Festival have officially launched a major evangelistic campaign in Kumasi, aimed at reaching more than 200,000 people across the Greater Kumasi area with the message of hope and salvation through Jesus Christ.

The festival, being organised by PALAU, a Christian ministry, in collaboration with some churches, para-church organisations and other institutions in Ghana, is expected to culminate in a two-day main event at the Kumasi Race Course from October 24 and 25, 2026.

Bishop David Chigamba, the PALAU Africa Festival Director, launching the festival in Kumasi, described the initiative as a national evangelistic campaign designed to unite churches and communities in spreading the Christian faith through practical outreach and community engagement.

He said the Love Ghana Festival would not only focus on preaching the gospel but would also undertake a series of activities aimed at impacting lives and addressing societal challenges.

According to him, the outreach activities would include eyeglass clinics, friendship evangelism training, visits to prisons and orphanages, engagements with children living on the streets and programmes in Basic, Secondary and Tertiary educational institutions.

Sports tournaments and special activities targeting children, youth, women and business executives would also be organised in various communities across the city ahead of the main festival.

Bishop Chigamba noted that the festival’s approach to evangelism was centered on building relationships and engaging people in non-threatening environments, making it both impactful and sustainable.

He said the climax of the festival at the Kumasi Race Course would feature action sports performances by professional BMX riders, family entertainment, music and gospel preaching.

“The festival is designed for the entire family and seeks to provide hope and positive values at a time when many young people are confronted with challenges such as drug abuse, substance misuse, immorality and delinquency,” he stated.

The Director said the initiative would bring together Christians from different denominations under a common purpose, stressing that the programme is not about promoting any particular church but advancing the Kingdom of God through unity and collaboration.

He expressed confidence that the festival would strengthen the collective mission of churches in Kumasi and contribute to transforming lives and communities.

Rev. Dr. Douglas Okonah-Frempong, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Love Ghana Festival, said the launch marked the beginning of a collective journey by churches and Christians to impact society through unity, prayer and practical action.

He urged media practitioners to communicate the vision and activities of the festival accurately and extensively to ensure that more people became aware of and participated in the programme.

Rev. Dr. Okonah-Frempong also commended church leaders and Christian organisations for their commitment to the initiative and appealed to all believers to remain united regardless of denominational differences.

“The Love Ghana Festival is not just an event or an agenda. It is an opportunity for the Church to come together in prayer, service and outreach for the transformation of our communities and nation,” he said.

He expressed optimism that the months leading to the festival would bring renewed hope, joy and spiritual revival to many people, adding that the success of the programme would depend on the active involvement and support of all stakeholders.

The Love Ghana Festival forms part of an evangelistic movement taking place in several cities across Ghana, with similar events planned for Cape Coast and Kasoa.

The organisers expect the outreach activities and the main festival in October to positively impact thousands of lives and strengthen collaboration among Christian denominations in the country.
