Accra, June 9, GNA – HealthTech Ghana Limited has been named Innovative Medical Technology Distribution Company of the Year at the ninth Ghana West Africa Business Excellence Awards (WABEA) held in Accra.
The awards ceremony, organised by KN Unique Communications at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, recognised more than 50 organisations across Ghana and the West African sub-region for leadership, innovation and contributions to economic and social development.
The recognition comes as HealthTech Ghana advances a public-private partnership with the Ministry of Defence to upgrade diagnostic services at the 37 Military Hospital.
The project includes the installation of Ghana’s first 1.5T helium-free Philips BlueSeal MRI system, alongside CT scanning, digital X-ray, mammography, ultrasound and laboratory services covering haematology, biochemistry and pathology.
Mr Daniel Morkla, Chief Executive Officer of HealthTech Ghana Limited, said the award reflected the company’s commitment to improving access to quality healthcare.
He noted that the firm’s model, which combines private sector investment supported by Prudential Bank Ghana with public infrastructure, aimed to address gaps in diagnostic services and reduce delays faced by patients.
The 37 Military Hospital initiative forms part of a broader national expansion plan focusing on diagnostic services and dialysis delivery through similar partnerships.
