Accra, June 12, GNA – The Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (GAND) has inducted about 120 newly registered nutrition and dietetics professionals from its Southern, Central-Western and Volta-Oti-Eastern Zones into practice.
The inductees comprise Registered Dietitians, Registered Nutritionists, Registered Dietetic Technicians, Registered Dietetic Assistants and Registered Nutrition Assistants.
On the theme , “A Step into Professional Excellence and Lifelong Impact in Nutrition and Dietetics,” the ceremony marked the formal admission of the professionals into the nutrition and dietetics workforce.


Administering the induction oath, Rev. Prince Baidoo, President of GAND, urged the newly inducted members to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and safeguard the values and reputation of the profession.
He said the profession played a critical role in promoting public health and improving the well-being of individuals and communities.
Describing nutrition and dietetics as noble professions, the GAND President charged the new professionals to remain dedicated to ethical conduct and avoid actions that could undermine public confidence in the profession.


“I urge you all to embrace continuous learning and professional development to enable you respond effectively to emerging health and nutrition challenges,” he said
The induction ceremony which brought together practitioners, educators and industry stakeholders also reaffirmed GAND’s commitment to promoting excellence, ethical practice and professional growth among nutrition and dietetics practitioners in Ghana.
Also present at the event were family members, friends and well wishers of the inductees who celebrated their achievements and official welcome into professional practice.
