Ho, June 16, GNA – Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Volta Region have successfully contained a domestic fire outbreak at Goshen City, behind Maxdel Hotel in Ho, preventing the blaze from spreading to adjoining properties.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, June 15, 2026, and affected a seven-bedroom residential building in the area.

Mr Kelvin Hope Bedzrah, the Volta Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency and said firefighters from the Regional Headquarters responded swiftly to a distress call.

He said the rescue team, led by Assistant Divisional Officer II (ADO II) Seth Sarfo, arrived at the scene promptly and managed to bring the fire under control, thereby averting further destruction.

According to Mr Bedzrah, the fire destroyed personal belongings and household items in the building, although no injuries or fatalities were recorded.

“The timely intervention of our personnel prevented the fire from spreading to nearby properties and causing more extensive damage,” he stated.

He said investigations had commenced to determine the cause of the outbreak and appealed to the public to cooperate with the Service as inquiries continued.

Mr Bedzrah also urged residents to observe basic fire safety measures, including proper handling of electrical appliances and flammable materials, to minimise the risk of domestic fires.

He further encouraged the public to report fire outbreaks promptly to the Ghana National Fire Service to facilitate rapid emergency response and protect lives and property.
