Bibiani (WN/R), June 16, GNA – Some members of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have petitioned the party’s leadership to immediately annul the ongoing Electoral Area Coordinators elections in the constituency.
In a statement signed by Mr Richard Anane Korsah, the Assistant Secretary of the Committee, accused organisers of the elections for alleged gross irregularities, constitutional violations, and mass disenfranchisement of qualified party members since voting began on June 13, 2026.
He cited re-vetting exercise at the Bekwai Zone without approval from the Constituency Executive Committee, chaos and confusion at some centres, and disqualification of some candidates as some of the irregularities that characterised the elections.
Mr Korsah, therefore, asked national leadership to annul the entire electoral area elections in the constituency and declare Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai a “special case” to be supervised directly by the national office.

He called for a written roadmap from national before any fresh elections were held, and a joint National-Regional IT oversight to regularise data entry of results.
Mr Korsah also called for all qualified members not to be disenfranchised and recommended an audit of vetting records against the national dues database.
“We repose confidence in your high office to act expeditiously to safeguard the unity and electoral fortunes of the New Patriotic Party in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency,” the petition said.
