Wuxor (V/R), June 2, GNA – Mr Japhet Festus Gbede, the Assembly Member for Wuxor, Have, Sremanu Electoral Area, has donated a fully equipped information centre system to the people of Wuxor to enhance communication and community mobilisation.
He said the initiative formed part of a broader commitment he made upon assuming office as Assembly Member to establish functional information centres in all communities within the Electoral Area.
Mr Gbede, during a short presentation event, added that the project was aimed at improving access to information, facilitating public education, and strengthening community engagement on issues affecting residents.
The event that witnessed the presence of Traditional rulers and elders from the community comprised an Ahuja mega horn speaker, an amplifier, a microphone, and other accessories needed for the effective operation of the facility.
Mr Gbede further supported the installation of the equipment to ensure that the Information Centre became operational immediately after the handover ceremony.
He expressed satisfaction that the commissioning of the Wuxor Information Centre had completed the rollout of similar facilities across all communities within his Electoral Area.
Mr Gbede noted that effective communication remained critical to community development and the successful implementation of local governance initiatives.
He said the information centres would serve as important platforms for disseminating information on public health, education, security, and other matters of public interest.
Mr Gbede commended the people of Wuxor for their cooperation and support towards development efforts within the area.
The Assembly Member said the warm reception accorded him by the Chief, elders, and residents of the community was encouraging and would inspire him to continue working diligently to improve the living conditions of the people.
Some community members who spoke to the Ghana News Agency welcomed the initiative and described it as a timely intervention that would improve communication and participation in community activities.
They expressed appreciation to the Assembly Member for fulfilling his commitment and contributing to the development of the electoral area.
