Akim Asene (E/R), June 29, 2026, GNA – The Asene Deserve Better (ADB) Association, a community development group has appealed to donors, businesses, and individuals to provide financial support to sustain and expand its major environmental rehabilitation and sanitation projects in the Akim Asene area.
Mr Akwasi Owusu Acheampong, the Chairman of the association made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.
He explained that ” the government alone cannot fix every town, so it is necessary for citizens to stand up and help themselves.”
Highlighting the importance of the support they are seeking, Mr Acheampong outlined some of the important tasks that the group had already begun to undertake on its own since it was founded by residents in March 2025.
He said they cleared overgrown vegetation along the pavements and the verges of the bridge connecting Akim Batabi and Akim Asene that serves as the main route to major cities like Accra, and Agona Swedru.
After which, the members applied reflective paint to the bridge structure to enhance visibility for motorists during low-light conditions and night travel to reduce road accidents, he said.
Also, they organize regular cleaning exercises to clear garbage and maintain sanitary standards within the town.
Mr Acheampong noted that the ADB is a non-partisan, non-religious, and non-ethnic organisation.
” Our sole purpose is to work together to improve sanitation, health, education, security, and social welfare for the benefit of both present and future generations.
He urged the public to follow and support their activities through their Facebook page called “Asene Deserve Better.”
