Techiman, (Bono East) June 12, GNA-The 2026 Central Organising Committee of the annual Meko Bono festival has paid a courtesy on Mr Francis Owusu Antwi, the Bono East Regional Minister, ahead of the fiesta scheduled for August 17 to August 22, 2026, at Atebubu.
The committee was led by Nana Atta Gyan Katakyie, the Sompahene (sub-chief) of the Atebubu Traditional Council and Nana Kofi Yeboah, the Vice President of the Meko Bonofie, the organisers of the festival.
Discussions were mostly centered on the strategies to showcase the culture and tradition as well as tourism potential in the region to woo investment.
Mr Antwi commended the committee and the organisers of the festival and pledged his dedication to support the successful organisation of the festival.
He emphasised that peace and unity remain prerequisite and called for a collective approach to strengthening the prevailing peace of the region, especially that in the Atebubu/Amantin Municipality.
Mr Antwi said he was confident that contractors reshaping the Atebubu/Amantin road project would finish before the event commenced.
Nana Katakyie also expressed appreciation to the Regional Minister for the reception and appealed to him to honour their invitation and attend the event.
