Kadjebi (O/R), May 28, GNA – Mr Adam Nafiu, Assemblyman of Yadzo Electoral Area in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region, has declared his intention to contest the Akan Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organiser position ahead of the party’s internal elections.

Mr Nafiu, who disclosed his ambition in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said his decision to contest was motivated by his desire to mobilise and empower the youth within the party to help strengthen its grassroots support base.

He said his four years of experience as an Assemblyman, coupled with his youthful energy and commitment to party development, placed him in a good position to effectively serve the youth wing of the party in the constituency.

“I believe my experience at the local governance level and my close relationship with the grassroots will help me work effectively with the youth to reposition the party for victory,” he stated.

Mr Nafiu appealed to delegates in the Akan Constituency to entrust him with their mandate, assuring them of hard work, inclusiveness and commitment to the progress of the party.

He stressed the need for unity among party members across the country, saying the NPP could only recapture political power in the 2028 general elections if members remained united and focused on the collective interest of the party.

“I always say that we need one another to fight together to win the 2028 general elections. Unity should remain our top priority,” he said.

Mr Nafiu cautioned party supporters against making divisive comments or engaging in activities that could create tension and disaffection within the party.

“There is the need for all of us to avoid comments that may bring disunity among us. We should rather support one another and work together towards a common goal,” he added.

He further pledged to champion youth development initiatives, political education and active participation of young people in party activities if elected as the Constituency Youth Organiser.

Mr Nafiu expressed optimism that the NPP would bounce back stronger ahead of the next general elections through effective grassroots mobilisation, discipline and unity among its rank and file.
