Sunyani, (Bono), May 11, GNA-Mr Ransford Antwi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Sunyani-based Suncity Group of Companies has presented GHC10,000 to support the construction of the standard clinic project for the Sunyani Senior High School (SUSEC).
The 1999 Year Group of the SUSEC is building the clinic at the school to improve quality healthcare delivery services among the students and being spearheaded by Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
“I decided to use the money the Electoral Commission refunded to me as a filing fee to support the construction of the project”, Mr Antwi, also an independent parliamentary candidate in the Election 2024 in the Sunyani East constituency in the Election 2024 stated.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, he said he made the presentation at a sod-cutting ceremony held at the project site at the premises of the school and commended the group for the initiative.
Mr Antwi said that: “I wanted to do something memorable with the filing fee and sincerely believe that sowing a seed into such a significant project being spearheaded by Odeefour Ogyemansan Korkor II is absolutely the right thing to do”.
He appealed to friends, loved ones, SUSEC alumni as well as corporate bodies and faith-based organisations to support the execution of the project, saying that: “We may not have direct benefit, but our grandchildren and their children shall”.
Mr Antwi, also a philanthropist, indicated that giving back to society remained the surest legacy wealthy and affluent individuals could bequeath to the future generation and expressed the hope with support the group would do more to enhance the growth and development of education.
The Suncity Group of Companies operates the Sunyani-based Suncity FM and the Suncity Imperial Lodge.
