Police commander cautions BECE candidates against lawless behaviours

Bechem, (Ahafo), May 5, GNA – The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Micheal Koole, the Tano South Municipal Police Commander in the Ahafo Region, has cautioned the candidates writing the on-going Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) against acts of lawlessness.

Nonetheless, he advised them to be confident and remain calm, saying that the presence of the police at the various examination centres was just to maintain law and order and not to intimidate them.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Bechem, ASP Koole said the police were their friends, and urged the candidates not to be scared, rather remain focused in writing the BECE and obtain good grades.

He said the police in collaboration with other relevant stakeholders had put in place adequate measures to improve security and protect the candidates and the invigilators.

ASP Koole advised the invigilators, supervisors and the candidates to be disciplined and inform the police about any act of lawlessness that could undermine the integrity and smooth conduct of the BECE in the area.

He also cautioned the candidates and their teachers against engaging in examination malpractices that could land them in trouble.
