Akumadan (Ash), May 21, GNA – The Offinso North District Assembly in the Ashanti Region mobilised GH¢908,725.12 in Internally Generated Funds (IGF) as of May 31, 2025, representing 95.69 per cent of its annual target of GH¢949,725.50.
Mr. Ceaser Ofosu Acheampong, the District Chief Executive (DCE), disclosed this during the First Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Offinso North District Assembly.
He commended the Assembly for the progress made in revenue mobilisation and management and assured members that efforts would be intensified to further improve revenue generation in the district.
On external funding, the DCE said the Assembly received GH¢14,386,228.25 in actual transfers from the Government of Ghana to support development projects and programmes.
Touching on agriculture, Mr. Acheampong described the sector as the backbone of the local economy and said the Assembly’s vision was to transform agriculture from subsistence farming into a viable business enterprise capable of improving livelihoods and creating employment opportunities.
On education, he announced that 1,551 candidates from across the district sat for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at five centres.
He noted that the Assembly remained committed to investing in the future of the youth through the provision of modern educational infrastructure and other interventions aimed at improving teaching and learning outcomes.


The DCE also disclosed that during this year’s Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) validation exercise, a total of 1,696 LEAP and non-LEAP households in 57 communities were reassessed and validated.
Additionally, he said 160 indigent persons had been enrolled onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to enhance their access to healthcare services.
He further stated that GH¢338,000 had been disbursed to 125 persons with disabilities in the district to support their economic and social wellbeing.
Mr. Acheampong appealed to Assembly Members to continue working together in unity towards the development of the district, while respecting divergent views and maintaining their commitment to the collective progress of the area.
