Tema, May 26, GNA — As Muslims across Ghana prepare to celebrate Eid al-Adha, many Muslims in Tema are using the occasion to promote peace, sacrifice, and support for vulnerable families amid current economic challenges.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the two major festivals observed by Muslims worldwide. The celebration commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to Allah when he was commanded to sacrifice his son before God provided a ram in his place.

Some Muslims who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) called for unity, compassion, and support for the needy during the festivities.

Mr Abdullah Yiri urged Muslims to use the celebration as an opportunity to strengthen peace and love within their communities.

“May Allah accept our sacrifices and prayers and bless every family with peace, good health, and prosperity,” he said.

Mr Abdul Rahman Naporo encouraged Ghanaians to embrace tolerance and togetherness throughout the celebrations.

According to him, Eid al-Adha should remind Muslims of the values of obedience, sacrifice, and kindness toward humanity.

Mr Ahmad Ziblim prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection for the nation and expressed hope that the celebration would deepen faith and promote national unity.

Madam Khadija Gariba called on Muslims to remember vulnerable families and share with the less privileged during the festivities.

She noted that Eid al-Adha was not only a season of feasting but also a period of charity and reflection.

Madam Fatima Mununi urged Muslims to uphold the spirit of sacrifice and continue praying for peace and development in the country.

“Sallah Mubarak to all Muslims and Ghanaians. May this celebration bring unity, mercy, and blessings to every household,” she said.

Eid al-Adha celebrations are traditionally marked by prayers, acts of charity, family gatherings, and the sharing of sacrificial meat with relatives, neighbours, and the poor.
