Accra, May 12, GNA – The Manwe Traditional Council has expressed gratitude to Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, the National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Wa East, Mr Sayibu Adamu, the District Chief Executive, for a series of development interventions benefiting the Constituency.
In a message of appreciation signed by Naa Alhaji Yussif Abubakari Wiah (I), Paramount Chief of Manwe, the Council highlighted three recent projects as evidence of “visionary leadership and development” in the Constituency.
“The Council commended the commissioning and handover of a newly constructed 3-unit classroom block in Manwe, noting that the contractor completed the quality work in four months against an eight-month schedule,” a statement from the office of Dr. Jasaw, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa East to the Ghana News Agency, has said.
It also acknowledged the donation of 1,000 pieces of school furniture to the District Director of Education at Manwe, describing it as a “transformative gesture” that will give students a more comfortable learning environment.
The statement noted that the Council further thanked Dr. Jasaw for releasing GH₵75,000 from his share of the MP’s Common Fund to the Wa East District Assembly.
It said the funds were to fuel grader machines and open critical roads to improve accessibility across the district.
“As traditional leaders, we take to heart the call to ensure these facilities are properly cared for,” the statement read.
“We pledge our full support in maintaining these assets so they may serve their intended purpose for the benefit of our students and the entire constituency,” it added.
The statement noted that the Council emphasised that the MP and District Chief Executive’s (DCE’s) continuous collaboration on education and infrastructure was “truly felt by the people of Wa East,” and added that the gestures secure a brighter future for children in the area.
